Susan Cooney is a Mindset Performance Coach, Master Yoga Instructor, and Adjunct Professor of Sports and Exercise Psychology at Utica University — and the person championship programs call when the physical training isn't enough.

Her work centers on self-awareness and emotional regulation: teaching athletes and coaches to align their thoughts, feelings, and actions so they can perform at their best when it matters most. She works with individuals and teams through breathwork, meditation, mindfulness, yoga, and restoration.

Team Highlights:

Individual Work: Susan's one-on-one coaching reaches athletes and coaches at every level. A D1 athlete navigating a career-threatening injury worked through the fear and identity loss that comes with forced time away — and returned to play with a clearer sense of self and stronger mental foundation than before. A professional athlete caught in the cycle of overtraining learned to trust recovery as part of the process, rebalancing effort and rest to extend both performance and longevity. A college coach on the edge of burnout rediscovered their purpose, rebuilt boundaries, and returned to their program with renewed energy and a more sustainable approach to leading. A talented thirteen-year-old, already wired for competition, learned to detach from outcomes and invest in the process instead — laying the mental groundwork that will carry them far beyond any single game or season.

The common thread: when the inner work gets done, everything on the outside shifts.

Susan has brought mindfulness, meditation, and greater self-awareness to thousands of athletes, coaches, and teams across the country. Her offerings include breathwork, meditation, mindfulness, empowerment workshops, and individual, group, and team coaching — online and in person.
